Opening Show Event on April 2nd from 5-7 pm at ART & SOUL GALLERY of oil paintings by local artist Michael Vilkin.
The show title, “Who We Are Inside” refers to the constant conversation we have between who we are inside our head and who the world sees.
The paintings are on a continuum between who we present to the world, and the mix of thoughts, emotions, and perceptions we have inside.
Our insides might be described as a tumult, a jumble, a lovely selection, an array, or a junk drawer of things that take the lead at any particular time during the day.
Our exterior whether consciously or not is always communicating something of us to the world.
This can be how we dress, speak, hold our faces, or the words we utter.
Michael catches the inside reflected in our visages, and the inside as things jockey to be expressed using an alluring selection of colors and juxtaposing shapes.
