Rosali Plays Ojai Deer Lodge

Rosali—the North Carolina–based songwriter and guitarist Rosali Middleman—brings music from her critically acclaimed 2024 album, Bite Down, to Ojai Deer Lodge on Wednesday, August 6.

Bite Down, Rosali’s Merge Records debut, was released last year to critical acclaim, with Bandcamp calling it “one of 2024’s most remarkable records” and The Wall Street Journal praising it as “is easily her best, bringing her tough but clear voice to a collection of earthy and energetic country-rock songs.” Bite Down captures Rosali in the midst of a transition, resolving to “sink my teeth into the flesh and bone of being in the world, devouring the obstacles in my path and gloriously savoring all that is on offer,” she elaborates. The album is elevated further by Omaha’s finest, the Mowed Sound: David Nance (bass, guitar), James Schroeder (guitar, synth), Kevin Donahue (drums, percussion), and Destroyer collaborator Ted Bois (keys).
