One afternoon, Anthony arrives unexpectedly at classmate Carolines door bearing a beat-up copy of Walt Whitmans Leaves of Grass, an urgent assignment from their English teacher. Homebound due to illness, Caroline hasnt been to school in months, but she is as quick and sardonic as Anthony is athletic, sensitive, and popular. As these two let down their guards and share their secrets, this seemingly mundane poetry project unlocks a much deeper mystery that has brought them together.
I and You is an ode to youth, life, love, and the strange beauty of human connectedness.
Starring Cosi Arthurs (TSU) and Milo Bustany (Michigan), with set design by Jonathan Mitchell and directed by Shannon Saleh, I and You will be shown in the Marquis Performing Arts Center on July 10,11,12 (7pm) and 13th (2pm) for a limited engagement. There is limited on-stage seating in a black box setting, and no late entrances will be permitted.
