Third-generation resident, Sandy Pearl, will read excerpts and sign her debut book, ‘Then the Phone Rang: My Journey from Hitchhiking Hippie to the Hollywood High Life’ on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Montecito’s historic Tecolote Bookshop.
Sandy has traveled the world, backpacking and on private jets.
Throughout her adventures, she’s survived kidnapping, detainment, two near-death experiences, and being targeted by a stalker.
Pearl’s book is a collection of real-life experiences blending light-hearted anecdotes, dark drama, tales of misadventure, riveting stories, and entertaining vignettes, with a twist of humor woven throughout.
