Our City Council next meets on Tuesday, August 19, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. to consider $500,000 in funding for our local immigrant rights nonprofit groups. We need to be present there in force to insist that they approve this funding … and to make certain that this funding ultimately comes from a source other than housing funds.
Please meet us for a rally on the De La Guerra Plaza side of Santa Barbara City Hall at 1 p.m. on August 19 to urge the City to provide this funding, and to demand that the City take strong action to protect our community from ICE assault. Then please join us inside City Council Chambers at 2 p.m. to make public comment supporting this action. And, please call your City Councilmember to urge them to adopt emergency measures to protect our immigrant neighbors.
