Solvang, CA — [September 4, 2025] — ZFolio Gallery is pleased to announce a new solo exhibition, Statements: The Art of Collage, featuring the work of acclaimed Santa Barbara artist Daniel Case.

The exhibition opens with a public reception on Friday, September 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at ZFolio Gallery in downtown Solvang.

Daniel Case is known for his evocative and refined approach to collage and assemblage, where found materials—both ordinary and obscure—are transformed into haunting, elegant visual narratives.

With a background in design and a deep sensitivity to memory, symbolism, and spatial storytelling, Case uses elements such as wire, paper scraps, metal shavings, and personal ephemera to create multi-layered works that invite introspection and discovery.

“Just about anything can be an inspiration for the next work,” Case has noted, drawing on childhood memories, European travels, and his interest in tactile storytelling.

In past exhibitions, critics have praised his work for its ‘streamlined elegance,’ describing minimalist pieces such as The Day After Tomorrow and Speedball as “haunting and beautiful.”

His compositions often juxtapose raw materials with refined craftsmanship, blurring the lines between artifact and art.

Each piece in Statements invites viewers to examine not only what has been preserved, but also what has been deliberately concealed or omitted.

Curated by ZFolio Gallery, Statements will highlight both new and retrospective works, exploring themes of memory, time, and personal mythology.

Viewers will experience Case’s signature balance of restraint and expression—where every object holds meaning, and every silence is intentional.
