State Street Ballet’s Beloved Nutcracker Returns with Live Orchestra and Record-Breaking Cast

Santa Barbara, CA — State Street Ballet returns to the Granada Theatre this holiday season with its beloved production of The Nutcracker, running December 19–21, 2025. A treasured Santa Barbara tradition, this year’s performances will feature live accompaniment by the Opera San Luis Obispo Orchestra, conducted by Brian Asher Alhadeff, and a cast of more than 100 local students from State Street Ballet Academy, over 20 pre-professional trainees from the State Street Ballet Professional Track, and 20 international professional company members, making this the company’s largest cast of the season.

Featuring over 100 local students, 20 pre-professional trainees, and 20 international professional company members, State Street Ballet brings holiday magic to the Granada Theatre, including a fourth performance added for the first time in the company’s 31-year history. Music is conducted by Brian Asher Alhadeff, with support from The Manitou Fund and Nora McNeely Hurley. Audiences are encouraged to secure tickets early, as seats are expected to sell quickly.
