The Theatre Group at SBCC will continue its 80th season with the classic romantic comedy by George Bernard Shaw, ARMS AND THE MAN, October 8-25, 2025 in the Garvin Theatre. Directed by Jonathan Fox.
Set during the 1885 Serbo-Bulgarian war, Arms and the Man is a romantic comedy that follows Raina Petkoff as she chooses between her fiancé, the rather dense but dashingly handsome war hero Sergius Saranoff, and a more battle-scarred but charismatic mercenary from the opposing army, Captain Bluntschli. Nobel literature winner, Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, best known for his play Pygmalion on which My Fair Lady is based, creates a world in which, with a little help from doting mothers, clever disguises and a fondness for chocolate, love can truly conquer all.
Arms and the Man will feature: Clayton Barry, Leesa Beck, Blake Benlan, Charlotte Hecker, Matthew Tavianini, Nik Valinsky, and Isabel Watson.
Performances will be October 8-25, 2025 in the Garvin Theatre on SBCC’s West Campus, 900 block of Cliff Dr. Performance times are Thursday through Saturday @ 7:30pm, Sunday @ 2pm, Previews on October 8 & 9 @ 7:30pm.
