Trestles is a surf/psych outfit from Santa Cruz, California.
Formed in 2021, the band has spent the last several years developing a sound based in 1960’s west coast garage rock tradition.
From their early days as a fresh faced college rock band to their more recent years as garage revivalists, the band has consistently been rooted in the culture of Santa Cruz.
With their own take on a surf/60’s revival sound, Trestles’ current day sound is the byproduct of shared time studying and obsessing over the history of music recording arts at the local community college.
The band’s attitude about “…what makes guitar bands worth anything in the age of infinitely accessible stimulation,” seems to be Trestles’ only traceable ethos.
Seeing the current landscape of independent music projects as “…a bunch of short-form theatre acts,” the band’s only goal is to do what they feel is actually worth doing, and to do it well.
