Whether you’re a lifelong Buddhist, want to reconnect with your Buddhist roots, or are curious about Buddhism come join the Buddhist Church of Santa Barbara (BCSB)’s monthly gathering which includes a dharma reflection service and our Lunch and Learn Series: Buddhism and Pop Culture.
Join us at our picturesque temple on Santa Barbara’s Eastside on Saturday January 10th at 10 am for a Buddhist service that includes moments to quiet the mind, chanting of traditional texts called sutras, and hearing a dharma message from our priest. At 11am, we’ll explore the theme of suffering and liberation through the hit TV drama Mad Men. We will answer any questions you have about Buddhism and a complimentary lunch with refreshments will be served.
BCSB is part of the 800-year-old Jodo Shinshu tradition of Japanese Pure Land Buddhism and has been rooted in Santa Barbara since 1913.
