Richard Koci Hernandez, Multimedia Journalist

Directed by Scott Erickson | USA | 2010 | 50min
DOCUMENTARY
WORLD PREMIERE

A picture can tell a thousand words. In today’s world, the power and reaction an image might generate can inspire a generation or spark public outcry for change. With technology changing every day and multimedia constantly evolving, aspiring photographers are finding new ways to show their images to the world. One photographer in particular, Richard Hernandez, has been a leader in breaking new ground using photography as a tool for social change through multimedia. This chapter in the Creative Inspiration documentary series traces the life and career of Richard Hernandez from aspiring photographer working for the Ventura County Star through his time at the San Jose Mercury News, all leading up to the pinnacle of his career as an Emmy Award-winning documentarian. Over the course of the film, Richard provides insight into how he views the world and how multimedia is changing the way news is delivered. - Vince Palomarez
