June 26, 1951 - February 19, 2010

“Hold onto your dreams

They’re more than they seem

Hold on to all you can.

There’ll come a day when this will all just slip away

so hold on to all you can…”

-- Lyrics by Kip Brown

Kip Brown was a lovable companion, a true friend, a talented singer-songwriter who could make a guitar soar. He was a mischievous prankster, a wounded seeker of the truth, and a man with a soulful and sweet heart. Kip touched many lives in our community and he will be sorely missed by his many friends and by his family.

All of Kip’s many friends are invited to gather on Saturday, February 27, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at SOhO Restaurant & Music Club, 1221 State Street, Santa Barbara, to celebrate his life and share their stories of this unforgettable man.

We were friends for 2 or 3 years. He would always try to get the best of me in a business deal but didn't really mean it. He would laugh and say it was worth a try. Always a gentleman. We played guitar together many times and yes, he was good. He was a very talented person without the ego that sometimes goes with that. He died of a heart attack. Rest in peace Kip,
