The Santa Barbara Zoo welcomed the arrival of two baby black-and-white ruffled lemurs on 4/1. An endangered species native to Madagascar, black-and-white lemurs were previously born at the zoo in May 2005.

One week after performing a necropsy on a sperm whale whose body floated ashore near Isla Vista, members of the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum’s Vertebrate Biology Department are looking into what may have killed a 12-foot long baby humpback whale that washed ashore earlier this week in Ventura.
