In a report titled “Oasis of Hope,” the Santa Barbara County Civil Grand Jury praised the staff and program at Los Prietos Boys Camp for juvenile criminal offenders. The report, released on 6/5, also called for expanded vocational training, and suggested mentoring by men who have graduated from the camp over the course of its 60 years of existence. The Board of Supervisors has 90 days to respond to the report.
