Audubon Cites Santa Barbara as Plentiful Bird Habitat

A recent study conducted by the Audubon Society revealed what it considers an alarming decline in the number of birds nationwide. However, a record number of species were observed in Santa Barbara County during Audubon’s annual Christmas bird count. Daniel Cooper, a conservation biologist, attributes the number of birds seen in Santa Barbara to the steady rate of growth and plentiful habitat available to different species.
