Capritto to Replace Turnbull as SBHS Principal

Santa Barbara High School will get its third principal in four years. In a 3-1 vote with one abstention, the school board approved Mark Capritto, currently the assistant principal of Calabasas High in Los Angeles County, to replace Paul Turnbull, who has accepted an administrative job with the district. Trustee Bob No»l voted nay while boardmember Annette Cordero abstained because Superintendent Brian Sarvis was not present to assess Capritto’s qualifications. Capritto, a Ventura High School graduate, has never been the principal of a traditional high school.
