Report Says California Housing Must Grow to Accommodate Population

A California Department of Housing and Community Development report released in June says that California must build 220,000 new homes annually to keep pace with population growth. Rentals are especially needed, according to the report, with home prices increasingly prohibitive and one quarter of all renter households considered to be overcrowded.
