Sheriff’s Gang Unit Makes Fifteen Arrests

More than 13 gang members and associates were picked up on warrants on 6/28 as part of the first large-scale operation to be conducted by the sheriff’s department’s newly reconstituted gang unit. Search warrants executed at 27 locations, mostly in Goleta, resulted in 15 arrests. Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers made five of those arrests, while the other 10 arrestees were booked on charges ranging from parole and probation violations to narcotics and weapons possession.
