UCSB Bans On-Campus Camping

On 7/27 UCSB’s Office of Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs released a statement that effectively banned camping on the university’s campus. The statement claims that health and safety risks were the motivating factor behind the ban, but many have argued that the school is trying to prevent further on-campus protests in the wake of the student-erected tent cities that housed protesting activists earlier this year.
