Zaca Fire Roars Back to Life

Thu Aug 02, 2007 | 06:00am

Predictions that the Zaca Fire was nearing its end went up in smoke on 7/29, as the nearly month-old inferno roared back to life along its eastern edge – near McKinley Peak and San Rafael Mountain – sending fumes and ash throughout the City of Santa Barbara. Firefighting crews number more than 1,040.
