Measure A May Change City Election Years

Council Debates Whether or Not It Will Work

Opponents of ballot Measure A-which would require the City of Santa Barbara to hold city elections concurrent with state, federal, and county elections-are accusing City Hall of playing dirty. Some feel that the measure would increase voter turnout, but critics contend that concerns of city residents will get lost in the shuffle if City Hall changes the years it holds its own elections.
