Having expanded its focus to helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses once they are launched, Women’s Economic Ventures, a pioneer in the field of micro loans for startup businesses, is holding its next “Think Big” conference on Friday, September 7. Panelists and speakers include Montecito Bank & Trust CEO Janet Garufis, Merrill Lynch senior financial advisor and vice president Joseph Weiland, Community West Bank commercial loan officer and vice-president Catherine Manset, and Collins & Associates attorney Lani Collins. The theme for this quarter is “Financials for a Growing Business: Asset Building and Tax Issues.” Hands-on activities as well as breakfast and lunch are all part of the day-long conference at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort, which costs $175 at the door or $169 in advance.
