Of the three incumbents running for re-election, Santa Barbara City Councilmember Helene Schneider starts the race with the largest campaign fund$15,000. Das Williams has $9,500 and Brian Barnwell $5,500. Both Barnwell and Williams received sizable union donations. The incumbents face a slate of opponentsincluding Dale Francisco, Michelle Giddens, and David Hotchkisswho will be bankrolled by Light Blue Line opponent Jerry Beaver.
