Construction has begun on a new Santa Barbara County sheriff’s substation in Isla Vista. The new building at 6504 Trigo Road will replace the existing Isla Vista Foot Patrol station on Pardall Road. The current site is being leased from UCSB and cannot be renewed when it expires June 30, 2008. Construction costs will be $3.7 million.
