Two ranch hands and their defense attorneys, including representation for Rancho La Laguna LLC, appeared in a Santa Maria courtroom on 10/15, all pleading not guilty to seven felony and misdemeanor counts of negligently starting the Zaca Fire and harming firefighters and support crewmembers. They will return to court 12/3 to set a date for a preliminary hearing, which will determine whether the case proceeds to trial.
