Goleta-based Deckers Outdoor Corporation-which makes Teva, Simple, and UGG brand shoes-was dubbed 2007’s ninth-best small company by Forbes magazine. The ranking is based on annual sales, percentage of growth, net profit, and management style. In 2006, the same ranking put Deckers in 80th place.
