Goleta Gets New Apartments

The City of Goleta gave penultimate approval for developer Michael Towbes to build 200 new apartment units just north of Patterson Avenue’s La Sumida Gardens on 11/5. Lauded by activist groups and the Goleta Chamber of Commerce for preventing sprawl, the development will include 34 units subsidized by the City’s Redevelopment Agency to make them more affordable. The project was criticized by some for not containing more affordable units.
