News-Press Employees Begin Negotiations

Santa Barbara News-Press employees began bargaining with the newspaper’s management this week for the first time since newsroom workers overwhelmingly voted to affiliate with the Teamsters more than a year ago. The two bargaining sessions occurred, coincidentally, after industry sources reported that the paper’s daily circulation plummeted nearly 13 percent in the past six months and its Sunday circulation dropped by nearly 14 percent.
