Direct Relief Works with Devastated Bangladesh

Santa Barbara-based Direct Relief International is working with the Bangladeshi Consulate and with its own in-country partners to try to deliver medical supplies to survivors of Cyclone Sidr. The storm killed hundreds, injured thousands, and disabled Bangladesh’s communications infrastructure, but DRI anticipates a need for anti-fungal medications, antibiotics to deal with waterborne diseases, and water-purification equipment, among other things.
