The University of California Institute for Research in the Arts is sponsoring Open Up the Box, an inaugural competition that encourages participants to imagine and apply new solutions to the affordable housing dilemma. Contestants are invited to use two 20-foot shipping containers to create functional, eco-friendly housing designs.
