The third full-length release by Canadian-bred indie kids Brooke Gallupe, Luke Kozlowski, and Kathryn Calder (of New Pornographers fame) is simple in concept, but intricate in execution. The boy-girl call and response of “Roman Statues” is reminiscent of pop purveyors Belle & Sebastian, while the guitar and cymbal buildup of “C’mon Sea Legs” has a decidedly New Wave feel.

The hep and hip Heavy Trash belts out a baker’s dozen of trashy tunes dipped liberally in blues, rockabilly, grime, and rock.
