The Spires

Jason and Colleen met on her front porch years ago while smoking cigarettes and fell in love. He didn’t sing or play guitar, she didn’t play drums, and so naturally they decided the only thing to do was start a band in their living room. Their rollicking brand of saloon-drenched roots music was an instant hit and left Santa Barbara craving more. Because When God Is Too Busy: Haiti, Me, and the World.

Her dramatic monologue, Because When God Is Too Busy: Haiti, Me, and the World was staged last Saturday as a benefit for a new documentary film on Haiti, Poto Mitan: Haitian Women Pillars of the Global Economy, and was hosted by UCSB’s Center for Black Studies Research.
