Judge Rules in Favor of Tour Operators

A state Court of Appeal ruled on 1/14 that liability may be waived to operators of aerial sightseeing tours for injuries to clientele. Vices & Spices co-owner Blue Booth and his daughter were injured during an emergency landing of a Santa Barbara Biplanes aircraft in 2005, but Justice Kenneth Yegan ruled against Booth, rejecting the argument that Federal Aviation Act safety standards state that the tour company should be held responsible.
