More Improvements Planned for Freeway Widening

Before four years of construction begins this summer on Highway 101 between Milpas Street and Hot Springs Road, utility companies are relocating water, wastewater, electronic transmission, cable, and phone lines, while Caltrans crews hasten to remove seven trees along Sycamore Creek near Dwight Murphy field in advance of nesting season. Improvements include new interchanges and bridges, two additional freeway lanes, and, on surrounding streets, bike lanes and roundabouts.
