Nava Holds Oil Companies More Accountable

Assemblymember Pedro Nava marked the 39th anniversary of Santa Barbara’s 1969 oil spill by announcing his intention to sponsor new laws holding oil companies like Greka Energy more accountable. Greka just spilled 8,400 gallons of crude from underground pipelines at a Santa Maria facility. Nava charged that Greka was responsible for spilling 500,000 gallons of oil in the past eight years, 200,000 of which occurred within the past two months.
