Military Conference Moved from UC Campus

Following a 2/12 rally during which anti-war activists disrupted a military biotechnology conference, rally organizers released a statement proclaiming success in having aborted the conference’s second day. UCSB officials and event organizers, however, confirmed that the second day had only been moved off-campus. Students insisted that tasers were wielded by security personnel, though UC Police spokesperson Officer Matt Bowman denied that UC officers had tasered a protester.
