In Santa Barbara, the closest you normally get to putting “food” and “Africa” in the same sentence is when it’s feeding time for the zoo’s giraffes. That situation will be rectified when Senegalese native Bara Fall of African Catering prepares an African Feast at Pacific Crpes on Sunday, June 1, at 6 p.m. (For reservations call 963-2190.) For $30, one will relish a West African prix fixe menu that includes appetizer, entree, dessert, and two specialty drinks. Highlights will include tjiebou geenar, chicken and vegetables with a sorrel-garlic sauce; buee, a sweet drink made from the fruit of the Baobab tree; and a luscious buttermilk chocolate cake with pineapple-chocolate buttermilk frosting. (Fall lived in Paris, too, so dessert has to be good.)
