Goleta-based Direct Relief International (DRI) announced on 9/8 that $150,000 of a $250,000 grant it had pledged last week to aid victims of Hurricane Gustav would go specifically to support rebuilding, recovery, and replenishment of storm-damaged medical supplies. While people largely escaped Gustav’s wrath, buildings didn’t, including clinics that now stand to benefit from DRI funds.
