In an effort to avoid layoffs, the cash-strapped UCSB campus paper The Daily Nexus announced on 1/8 that it will not print a Friday edition, at least for the remainder of the school’s winter term. The decision will purportedly save the paper $15,000. Editor-in-chief David Ferry said he hopes to resume the Friday issue in the spring, when the paper typically takes in more ad revenues, which are its chief source of funding. (/nexus115)
