Some residents on Santa Barbara’s Eastside were awakened early Sunday morning by several police and emergency responders whizzing by, answering a call of possible gunshots and a subject down in the 100 block of North Milpas Street.

At least four police units responded code three, with lights flashing and sirens sounding, and officers were informed subjects had left the area in a vehicle and one had been seen running away.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers didn’t find any evidence of gunshots or that any crime had been committed, although they did find a person lying on the ground due to intoxication.
