Corktree Cellars Wine Bar & Bistro (910 Linden Ave., Carpinteria; 684-1400; corktreecellars.com) has popped the bottle on a new chef: Brandon Worrell, formerly of Mondial Catering. “I am so excited that Chef Brandon has joined our team here at Corktree,” said owner Jessica Pintard. “He truly loves what he does and it shows in his food. Our food has always been good, but Brandon has brought it to the next level with his love for local produce and fresh approach to cooking. We are a locally driven business and I love to see my chef chatting with our regular customers and being a part of their lives. I am so looking forward to seeing what this next year will bring for us as a team and as a restaurant. I truly believe that with the hiring of Brandon, we will surpass even our own expectations.” Some changes include a new happy hour featuring tapas specials, monthly wine tastings on the patio, and a new Sunday brunch menu featuring the likeable likes of lobster Benedict and bananas Foster French toast.
