Nestled on the southernmost slopes of the picturesque Santa Ynez Valley, the Sedgwick Reserve is a mystery even to many Santa Barbarans who reside within 25 miles of the property. To shed some light on some of S.B. County’s most idyllic and enigmatic 6,000 square acres this week, Kate McCurdy and Nick DiCroce, director and docent at the reserve, will be answering questions at The Sedgwick Reserve: A Q&A Session.
Learn about the vital agricultural and environmental contributions it has made to the region, its current use in science and research, and more. Of course if you’re only interested in finding out if you can make Sedgwick your next weekend camp site-or whether 1970s-era socialite Edie Sedgwick was really part of the family for which the reserve was originally named-the experts will be able to answer those questions, as well.
