Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital has been certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center for its efforts to improve care for stroke patients by the Joint Commission, a leading healthcare accreditation agency that has given the same designation to facilities at Stanford, UCLA, and UCSF. The certification reflects Cottage’s efforts in education and outreach as well as emergency intervention, acute patient care, and rehabilitation.
