Students attending UCSB’s fall quarter, which began 9/24, will be among the first to utilize the Social Sciences & Media Studies Building and the Education Building-collectively 194,000 new square feet of classroom and miscellaneous other space that will house the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, among other campus institutions. The $101.85 million construction project, funded by state bonds approved by voters in less cash-strapped years, also includes a 15,570-square-foot Pollock Theater, which is still under construction.
