Tue Sep 29, 2009 | 03:00pm

Harvest is a magical time of year in Santa Barbara County. The aromas of ripe fruit juices and fresh oak barrels pervade the senses and inspire a deep appreciation of the area’s regional flavor. On October 10, the annual Celebration of Harvest, sponsored by the Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Association, offers an ideal opportunity to savor the area’s bounty. The festivities take place at Rancho Sisquoc Winery (6600 Foxen Canyon Rd., Santa Maria) from 1-4 p.m. More than 100 wineries will pour their current releases, accompanied by lively bands and the area’s finest chefs, offering tastes of their wine country fare. Guests can participate in the silent auction benefiting area charities, or celebrate with a Vintners’ Visa, a four-day passport for tastings and special offers at participating wineries. For complete details and tickets, visit the Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Association site at SBCountyWines.com, or call 688-0881
