The dish: The Nugget Restaurant in Summerland ushered in a second dining location in Goleta at the end of 2009. Jovial Western decor is festive, fun, and family-friendly, complemented by finger-lickin’ casual fare. Appetizer options sing comfort food, with offerings of cheddar cheese stuffed potato skins, homemade bean-based chili, crispy hot chicken Buffalo wings, and hand-breaded calamari wedges. The rest of the menu is made up of eight tossed salads, 10 Nugget burgers (try the guacamole burger slathered with guac, bacon, and Swiss cheese), steaks, seafood, sandwiches, pasta, chops, and ribs. Honey-dipped fried chicken is sweet and crispy, while golden fried battered cod is served “fish and chips”-style with fries. Horseshoes, deer heads, and wood accents make up the rustic Western atmosphere, and lunch and dinner is served daily.
