The Board of Supervisors okayed a new energy program on 4/13 which would allow property owners to loan money from the county for home projects ranging from solar equipment installation to home sealing and insulation, to installation of improved efficient plumbing features and tankless water heaters. The county, after evaluating an application, would loan the resident the money, which would then be paid back on property taxes for a period of up to 20 years. The program, in addition to helping residents make their homes energy efficient, could also bring up to 900 jobs to the county.
