I appreciated the article about Sister Angela’s testimony during the D’Sant Angelo trial. [“D’Sant Angelo Trial: Day Three,” 3/19/10] But there are two corrections to be made. First, the donated money is not being used for daily needs. It is still in the bank and has had a withdrawal only once for a health issue regarding one of the sisters.
Secondly, the nuns were not taken out of Santa Barbara because they were not obedient nuns. Their story generated reporting that was not appreciated by the archdiocese, and the Mother General removed them to prevent any more media coverage. —Rosemary Gutierrez (Sister Angela’s sister), Hacienda Heights, CA
