‘The Map’ Celebrates 25 Years

The Map—the wildly popular illustrated rendering of downtown Santa Barbara and surrounding areas that’s handed out by concierge staff at most nearby hotels—is celebrating its 25th year and lastl print-run of 2010, next month.

Since 1986, nearly 3.5 million copies have been made, and around 150,000 maps are printed each year by Creative Promotions and doled out to 150 different businesses. Creative Promotions was started by David Zeff who moved to town in the summer of 1981 to go to City College and became a World Freestyle Frisbee Champion.
