Quaids Miss Another Court Date

Fourth Absence So Far; Still in Canada

Wed Nov 17, 2010 | 02:00pm

Randy and Evi Quaid have once again failed to show for their scheduled arraignment on charges of trespassing and felony vandalism in Santa Barbara Superior Court. Tuesday marked the fourth time they had done so.

As a result, Judge Donna Geck left the already issued bench warrants for their arrest in place, and had their case — minus Evi’s probation violation hearing — removed from the court’s calendar. The matter will not be scheduled again until the Quaids are arrested, extradited, or make the necessary arrangements themselves. To date, the couple has forfeited a million dollars in bail bonds.

According to Robert Sanger — the defense attorney representing the couple — the Quaids remain in Canada, where Randy has reportedly had his passport taken until he makes an appearance in Canadian immigration court on November 23.

Evi Quaid’s probation violation case will be heard in front of Judge Ochoa on December 16.
